COUPLES THERAPY

COUPLES THERAPY

"Difficult, uncomfortable conversations are the foundation of all strong relationships. Great relationships do not just magically happen; they require work from those involved to understand one other and communicate effectively".

- Dr. Jade Thomas

Founder & Clinical Director of Luxe Psychology Practice

At Luxe Psychology Practice we recognise that every individual is different and has their own individual experience that leads them to seek psychological therapy and couples therapy is no different.

There are many reasons why couples choose to seek couples therapy, for example partners may notice unhelpful, repeating behaviour patterns which find them stuck in the same arguement over and over again, some problems within relationships may arise due to lack of trust, intimacy or communication. There may also be external factors placing stress on the relationship such as financial problems or work stressors. When any of these problems arise within a relationship, couples therapy can help you to communicate more effectively and form a deeper understanding of one another.

How does couples therapy help?

  • Allows you to gain a deeper understanding of your relationship dynamic

  • Offers a safe space for you and your partner to discuss and resolve conflicts

  • Allows you to see each other's perspectives

  • Learn effective coping strategies

  • Allows you to deepen your intimacy and connection within your relationship

  • Offers clarity about your relationship

  • Improves communication skills

  • Allows you to build individual self awareness & personal growth to further improve the relationship dynamic

During the couples therapy you can:

  • Explore and communicate thoughts, beliefs and feelings held by each partner

  • Examine your behaviours as a couple and how this might be impacting the relationship

  • Explore interventions to achieve positive changes within the relationship

Testimonials

Anonymous - Current Client

I formed a strong relationship with Jade very quickly, which has continued to grow over time, to the point that I trust her implicitly and feel able to tell her anything and everything. I feel incredibly heard in our sessions, and she provides the perfect balance of listening to me, and using questions to help me develop further understanding of issues on my own.
Although our sessions cover dark and difficult topics, she helps me to see light within them and we are able to laugh and have fun as part of the process.
Jade is brilliant at making links between the things I talk about currently, and things I’d told her months ago. This helps things make more sense, and also frequently highlights my progress. She never makes me feel like a problem is too big, or too small. Jade frequently sends me very useful resources that help me to continue the work we do together between sessions.
I can see clearly that I am a far better version of myself since starting sessions with Jade.
