BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER (BPD) ASSESSMENTS
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can affect the way you experience yourself, your emotions, and your relationships. It is often marked by intense feelings, fear of abandonment, shifting self-image, and difficulties managing impulses or emotional pain. These experiences can feel confusing and overwhelming, but with the right understanding and support, meaningful change is possible.

A BPD assessment offers a clear, compassionate space to explore your emotional world and relational patterns in depth. Conducted by an experienced HCPC registered psychologist, the assessment involves a detailed clinical interview, validated measures, and consideration of your life history and current difficulties. We draw on recognised diagnostic frameworks such as the ICD-11 and DSM-5, ensuring an accurate and thoughtful understanding of your presentation.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A BPD ASSESSMENT?
All Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) assessments are conducted by a HCPC-registered psychologist. Each assessment is comprehensive and designed to provide an accurate, nuanced understanding of your presentation. The process includes the following components:

Clinical Interview (60-90 minutes)
A detailed clinical interview forms the foundation of the assessment. During this session, your psychologist will explore your personal history, emotional experiences, relationships, and current difficulties to develop a full understanding of your background and functioning.

Psychometric Measures
To complement the clinical interview, one or more validated psychometric tools may be used to aid diagnostic clarity. These include:
-
SCID-5-PD – Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 Personality Disorders
-
DIPD-IV – Diagnostic Interview for DSM-IV Personality Disorders

This multi-method approach ensures your assessment is thorough, evidence-based, and tailored to your individual presentation.
Following the assessment, you’ll receive a comprehensive written report summarising findings, diagnostic considerations, and personalised recommendations for ongoing therapy or support where appropriate.
