CHILD & ADOLESCENT INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

CHILD & ADOLESCENT INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Preteen-Tiny.png

Child and adolescent therapy offers a safe space for children to express and make sense of challenging thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Psychological therapy can help children and adolescents to make sense of what they are experiencing, feel less distressed, become more self-aware, heal and develop resilience.

The psychological and emotional health of children and adolescents is equally as vital as their physical health. Their ability to bounce back from setbacks and mature into well-adjusted, healthy adults is facilitated by having good mental health from a young age.

What can affect children and young people’s mental health?

  • Traumatic events can trigger mental health problems for children and young people.

  • Family stress- Since children are highly perceptive to changes in dynamics at home, stressful situations may have an adverse effect on children's mental health.

  • Transitions and changes such as relocating, changing schools, family changes, etc.

  • Academic pressure could lead to anxiety and stress in children and young people.

  • The effects of bullying can have serious and lasting negative impacts on young people's mental health and overall wellbeing. Bullying can cause feelings of rejection, isolation and low self-esteem.

  • Teenagers may experience emotional changes during puberty as their minds and bodies develop for transitioning to young adulthood.

We offer support to children and adolescents for a wide-range of difficulties including:

  • Low mood

  • Anxiety and Panic

  • Stress

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

  • Behavioural difficulties

  • Difficulties relating to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Testimonials

Anonymous - Current Client

I formed a strong relationship with Jade very quickly, which has continued to grow over time, to the point that I trust her implicitly and feel able to tell her anything and everything. I feel incredibly heard in our sessions, and she provides the perfect balance of listening to me, and using questions to help me develop further understanding of issues on my own.
Although our sessions cover dark and difficult topics, she helps me to see light within them and we are able to laugh and have fun as part of the process.
Jade is brilliant at making links between the things I talk about currently, and things I’d told her months ago. This helps things make more sense, and also frequently highlights my progress. She never makes me feel like a problem is too big, or too small. Jade frequently sends me very useful resources that help me to continue the work we do together between sessions.
I can see clearly that I am a far better version of myself since starting sessions with Jade.
